DECA and NBCA are working together: TABASCO TABASCO stands for “Transform And Beautify Along Shallowford Corridor”. About TABASCO TABASCO consists of stakeholders that live or work in and around the Shallowford Road interchange with I-85, in an area that has been defined by DeKalb County as a neighborhood center. TABASCO has taken on the task of defining what that neighborhood center should look like in the future: To read more this effort and contact us, please visit the TABASCO Yahoo Group at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DECA_TABASCO RE-IMAGINING SHALLOWFORD Public meeting #2SATURDAY, JUNE 1 – 8:30 registration & coffee; 9-noon meeting The May 22 meeting was a good beginning; on June 19 we dig deeper. We began to form a Vision of our “village”; a subgroup is coalescing the many visions into one Vision for review on June19. We will also review a summary of the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) exercise. Then participants, in small groups, will talk about how that Vision Statement breaks down into details, like what it means in terms of land use, transit, parks, etc. We’ll end with a “Road Map” to implementation of the Vision. Please Come to this second meeting! Please tell your friends about it! May 22 wrap-ups posted at www.northbriarcliff.org: SWOT exercise output summary & photos. Sponsors: TABASCO Coalition (DECA & NBCA) & Commissioner Jeff Rader. Facilitator: Davis Fox.
