<<<For Immediate Release>>>

Recently many residents within the boundaries of the Dresden East Civic Association have received flyers and robocalls advocating against the annexation of our neighborhoods into the City of Chamblee.  As has been the case in the past, those who are responsible for these anti-Chamblee annexation materials have chosen to remain anonymous.

This time, however, these anonymous groups are using names which appear to be intentionally similar to the name of our organization.  By using names like The DeKalb Annexation Education Coalition (DAEC) and DeKalb Concerned Citizens (DCC), it seems they are hoping to confuse residents into thinking there is a connection between them and the Dresden East Civic Association (DECA).

We want to make it clear that these anti-Chamblee annexation materials are not coming from DECA or anyone associated with it.  The officers and Board of Directors of DECA do not condone the actions of these anonymous groups, nor do we agree with their stance on this important issue.

We continue to support the grassroots efforts of homeowners, small business owners and residents of our area who are for annexation into the City of Chamblee.  This is our opportunity to vote for something that will directly and significantly improve our quality of life for years to come.  We encourage our neighbors to join us in taking advantage of this opportunity by voting YES for Chamblee annexation on Tuesday, November 5th.
